Avril Mulligan is a writer and a teacher from Western Australia. Her short fiction and creative non-fiction have appeared in various Australian and international journals and anthologies, including Ourselves (Night Parrot Press), Aurealis, Meniscus Literary Journal and Andromeda Spaceways. Her story ‘Leaving’ won the City of Rockingham Emerging Writer Award in 2020, and was included in the anthology Connections. In 2025 she was shortlisted for the Double-Take Novelette Award (Night Parrot Press). Mostly, she finds herself writing about wild places, wild hearts and impossible decisions.
